(52,897 posts)a high fever suddenly and coughing and tightness in the chest. How do we know if we have a common allergy with a sore throat or it is something worse? Every day I hear a different story about the symptoms.
The victim is 25 years old, his cat died from his germs and to call for transportation to the hospital would have cost him a fortune (I thought China took care of the $ of the patients, unlike here).
Good thing Thom has Purell and Vit C on his desk.

(13,601 posts)But if it made this 25 year old that sick imagine what it could do to an older person with underlying conditions.

(14,964 posts)flat out thought I was crazy, for the past month realize this soon. I am the last person to spout conspiracy theories..I really hope people start to prepare and limit their interactions when possible.

(103,484 posts)It's not "your body" that develops resistance to antibiotics. It's bacteria. Antibiotics attack bacteria, not your own cells. That's the whole point of them. And while they shouldn't be used if there isn't a need, it's quite possible he did have a bacterial infection - they can accompany viral ones - and if you're as bad as he said, then it's worth going with the medical diagnosis. Take the whole course, as prescribed (stopping the moment you start to feel better, so that you can hoard the rest, is one way you end up favouring the slightly stronger bacteria).
