That's the point of Fox News et al., to manufacture outrage that white people will easily buy into. It's been that way since at least since the Nixon days when Roger Ailes brought up the idea of a Republican television network.

(435 posts)He has always played up to men and it worked in 2016. He stirred up the macho men who pushed their wives on how to vote too. While white males are the ones he truly feels close to, the message is also directed to non-white males who use culture, religion, etc to justify their misogyny.

(1,393 posts)My now-ex idiot born again Republican voter tried to tell me how I was going to vote way back in the early 80s. He got his ass handed back to him, in public, and never tried that again. He called me once, wanted to talk about Mitt Romney. "I know you won't vote for him, but you should understand how good he is." I proceeded to educate him on Mormons, especially their "magic underwear" and that planet men will get to be king over. I believe he didn't even vote that year.
Sadly, ex has a severe TBI and won't ever be voting again. So now I get to cancel out his wife's vote instead. Life is still good.
