Paraphrasing: if JD Vance, who is 40 years old, lives his life the same way as TFG has, he is going to get stupider for the next 38 years.

(84,805 posts)If all this attention goes to his head, we'll have to tolerate, AND stay several steps ahead of him, for years to come.
Unfortunately, once he's tasted the spotlight, I bet he'll find it awfully hard to give up. Especially if he thinks he'll be positioned as "heir du trump" in four years.

(8,792 posts)The gop has to "expand its base"... and find some way to appeal to women. Considering the cluelessness of the repub male weirdos, it only leaves nominating women. The incels will just have to deal with it. 🍿

(1,249 posts)Getting rid of Roe v Wade is something they can't go back on. They've used it for half a century to get votes, now it's gone, how they can fix that? They'd have to work to reinstate it, and then they can't use it to get out the vote anyway, because they'd be the ones who helped to get it back.
After worshipping a rapist and admitted molester, what have they got to offer women? Protection? After women had died from lack of medical care? After saying they want to monitor women's menstrual cycles?
The Republican party is toast. Maybe they'll split off from the MAGAs and try to go back to being more moderate, a little bit socially conservative, but not gay bashing, woman hating, not racists and bigots.
Even then, I think it will take decades before women trust them again, if it ever happens.
