Early results are often skewed to the republican candidate. At this point in both 08 and 20 it looked like Obama and Biden were losing. However, they both pulled it out in the end. It's still very early. It's not even 10pm yet. Keep the faith.

(5,229 posts)I know its not nice to say but Kornacki is the most annoying person. His voice is unbearable and I have no interest in most of his comments. I grab the remote and mute it whenever he is on.

(5,229 posts)people like him but I dont like being in the weeds!! 💕

(2,698 posts)His weeds have been pretty accurate historically. It's very annoying when we don't like what we're hearing.
This is all pretty stressful but why takeit out on Steve?

(3,909 posts)I was commenting on his delivery which many people dont care for. And I really doubt Kornaki cares.

(3,909 posts)Kornaki is a well paid TV celebrity. Im sure hell be fine.

(2,698 posts)Just not wiling to pile on the bandwagon. He proved exactly right tonight. To my chagrin.
He knows a thousand counties up and down, he knows statistics. and he is why we didn't need another day or two to know the result of this election.
Maybe we would have preferred not knowing, for a blessed day or two.

(3,909 posts)and the many people who will be hurt over the next several years. I could care less about an elitist TV celebrity.

(5,376 posts)Like really off for almost 15 years with no channel entertainment. Just the radio is good enough for me. And it is only on in the kitchen.

(49,971 posts)I remember this from previous elections and we should all have been prepared for it.
Meanwhile, however, I really thought Trump would be doing far worse than he is.

(4,369 posts)So I got home around 3p PST turned on MSNBC and watched for a while. Decided to get my exercise in. Hopped on my bike and started pedalling, still watching.
My wife got home with our 7yr old granddaughter and we had it on in the background and were chatting about our day.
Granddaughter was asking questions about the numbers and seeing trumps face and said to me, "We don't want that monster to win!
I told her damn right!
So seeing all the early red shit and deciding to eat we switched to National Geographic channel and are watching animals.
After granddaughter hits the sheets we'll go back to it.
In the meantime I'm of course peeking in on DU for updates.
GO KAMALA! 🫰🫰🫰🫰

(2,698 posts)They were counted early this year. Sorry, there isn't a mail vote to rescue us later in the week

(40,148 posts)And look at this -- Alsobrooks just won in Maryland -- another Black Senator -- Yay!
ancianita
(40,148 posts)Alsobrooks leaned in on Senate math as a crux of her argument, asking voters to consider the likelihood of a Senate Republican majority if Hogan was elected. She frequently highlighted things like committee chairships or floor control as part of her case, though Hogan countered by vowing to be a swing vote in the upper chamber.
Alsobrooks is currently a county executive in Maryland. She will be the first Black senator from Maryland and among a handful of Black women ever elected to the Senate. She has called Vice President Kamala Harris a mentor, meaning the two women could be closely allied if in office at the same time.

(230,581 posts)That changes when early votes, mail in ballots and absentee ballots are counted.
HUAJIAO
(2,730 posts)of voters not yet counted, there are barely enough EC votes left, Kamala is so far behind. She pretty much has to run the table. Just being factual.

(2,515 posts)only sure blue states and maybe states.
Republicans do best in rural areas and states with small populations, both of which are quick to count. So naturally those results come in quickly.
