The reasons the Republican party won is because their leader appeals to the

racist, misogynist, and violent impulses of the masses. He legitimizes their hatred. They are not fettered by a high degree of religious or any other kind of morality. The party members legitimize him by refusing to condemn his coup, his illegal behavior or even his public obscenity. He can do no wrong- he is truly above the law. Because of this, some of them are also above the law. They don't need education, in fact it is a liability.

This half of society wants the rest of us to be afraid of them and their guns. They are not amenable to rational persuasion. So I am not interested in hearing what the Democratic candidate DID WRONG. For people like this, a good, decent, intelligent person is not what they want. They want someone as low and vile as they are.

People choose the path of least resistance. Learning is hard.
People rely on what they have learned and built their lives on it. It becomes their world view.
When capitalists model their business plan to work with that consumer, they measure success on product loyalty.
Jesus is a great example. Get 'em while they are young. Branding.

If we must build our party to lower ideals to stay relevant, what is the point of the intellectual chase?

We are competing with the billionaire oligarchs for relevance. They have the least common denominator on their side while we are searching for the origins of life.

I'm going to keep at my inquiries because the mundanity of the vulgar is not my cup of tea. I will stay the course of intellectual curiosity despite the loss of community.

Do you sell your soul for relevance to the least curious among us, or attend to the young minds who want to experience the excitement of learning?

We need to get the kids. That is where we need to work on the ground.

Education is the game.
