Top contributor, thank you so much for the heads up and for supporting journalism. Please allow me to suggest a different focus than the presidential response.
Speaking only for myself, we are in this mess, because we the people/voters neglect to hold the opposition accountable every time they do wrong. So when a politician does something horrible, instead of being punished by our recruiting voters away, our supporters to vote, fundraising to remove the most vulnerable opposition elected officials... Many groups tell us to make this a problem Democrats are responsible for solving.
Trump made a disaster of Afghanistan. Instead of holding his party accountable till they suffered polling drops, this habit of making it Bidens responsibility dropped our polling by five points.
Trump made another disaster with COVID-19 containment and then with pandemic management. This shut down the global economy and the subsequent scarcity and pend demand superheated the economy on reopening. Instead of punishing Republicans for the mess they made, we helped them focus blame on Biden for not fixing their mess.
Mostly white men of the Republican Party increased funding for deportations by 60% from 2003-2006. This increased deportations by 60% from 2007-2008. So President Obama inherited the highest deportation levels in modern US history. Instead of punishing Republicans, the beloved migrant movement I have served for years, took the incompetent advice of an extreme left faction to blame deportations on the first black president. Nothing contributed more to the loss of 2014 and 2016 than the subsequent rise of anti-immigrant politics. Latinos rewarded Republicans for deportations by blaming their political opposition.
Since we the people have done a terrible job of delivering consequences for all the harm they do and we will soon not be able to blame President Biden anymore, now is the time to get in the habit of organizing poll-crushing consequences to Republicans for wrongdoing. Because if we keep letting them escape punishment, bullies learn they can do whatever they want to you. Collective bully unions of fascism are exponentially more dangerous, so we must organize now.

(48,203 posts)1. We need to make it publicly known that Republicans use Democrats as scapegoats and
their voters are too stupid to see it.
