The deception has become the reality of his followers. But it is a fool's gold. It is not real.

In a complex and complicated world, lies and deceit will only get you so far. Sooner or later, reality will overtake all the illusions and delusions of their make-believe world. Just as COVID did in his last term.

His attraction to violence and to authoritarians does not bode well for our future. His aversion to the truth complicates everything.
