Zillow started publishing climate risk on homes for sale, buyer beware ...

I learned about firststreet.org in the environmental group here on DU and had read elsewhere that Zillow would begin to add these climate risks to their website in January, not sure it would be this firm or another one.

My daughter is leaving FL and moving back north

When I looked at homes for sale in the area, climate risks are already listed if a home is an active listing.

You can look by zip code or a specific address, climate is not waiting for us to wake up, insurance companies, lending institutions are looking at the risk.

Thank you to the environmental forum on DU!!!

And for 2025, my homeowners insurance will be 5100 up from 3200. Ugh. That will have an impact on many in my area. I’m definitely not the only one to see these rate increases. I’m sure many haven’t seen them yet. I’m with USAA and scared to look around because so many insurance companies will drop you after a year or so. So I’m stuck with 5100 to keep from being dropped from another company. It’s freaking scary!!!!! What will 2026 look like in my insurance costs? Dreadful to think about.

a greater challenge.

Hopefully we'll see groups of disparate groups of people join together!

BUT the thing is we need a healthy and educated society to do so.

Keeping the faith while crying a little as well
