Well, this post aged poorly.

WHY in the world would anyone with even a sliver of a sense of justice delay tsf's sentencing further ? Is there actually a law that says you can't get sentenced if you manage to buy or steal an election in the meantime ? I'm not aware of one, and there shouldn't be any way that can happen -- it's an open invitation to abuse. If tsf was about to be sentenced, the voters should have known their votes for him might be wasted, and voted otherwise. Of course they should have started doing that back in the primaries -- no way a convicted felon should have ever been the candidate for a respectable* political party.

If I'm ever convicted of a felony, could I get out of it by landing a job before the sentencing hearing ? It seems to me that's all that happened in tsf's case. He was unemployed when he was indicted, but you don't stay the conviction just because he's got a job lined up.

I really thought Marchand was doing a very admirable job, up until now.

being legitimate presidential actions.

He's perhaps presumptively immune, but Bragg has to make a case as to why he's not--that's the "presumptive" bit. Bragg's asked for a few weeks to do that, and before that, how can Marchan be sure that the verdict stands and *he* doesn't have to overturn it?
