(3,596 posts)but nothing new for me ... or my kids.
They were taught critical thinking from the time they were tots.
When something like this happens, we all ask each other- "What's going on that 'they' want to distract us."
Sometimes having a shitty childhood and being forever vigilant has its advantages?
No, that pajama party you were promised turned out to be a tonsillectomy....
Same technique, but expanded.

(15,006 posts)also says only get you news from AI. A lot the tone smacks of conspiracy theory.
I used to read a lot of conspiracy theory books and other media for fun, I never thought they would hold up under any kind of scrutiny. This guy sounds very much like that.

(15,006 posts)Getting reliable facts from AI is a joke. It's been demonstrated many times.

(13,128 posts)The biggest problem I can think of would be the loss of privacy in order to increase security in this area of the East Coast. Hovering drones could be used to gather all kinds of information including: wifi communications, surveillance of one's property, or even penetrating what is going on inside of a home using a radar system.
With the recent (second) assassination attempt of Trump at Bedminster NJ, and the assassination of a high-profile CEO involving a suspect traveling through nearby states, perhaps the recent drones are being used to test the waters for detecting radical threats, in particular for the incoming administration.

(6,798 posts)Are we being psyoped? Who will benefit? Will we lose freedoms? Are there similar fear phrases across the media? How convenient is the timing (is this a distraction from something)?
And lots more questions to ask to keep our heads straight with conspiracy theories so easily eaten up by the public.

(2,749 posts)be used to promote a MIHOP interpretation of 9/11. It is high school level analysis (go look up defense contractor(!)), and hes pushing a survivalist mentality (whos fear-mongering here?). And since when did Congress ever need a psyop to increase defense spending? They typically allocate more money than the pentagon asks for which passes with near unanimity.
Heres another one of his videos:

(9,668 posts)It was a pretty neat trick to see Mericans going along with the war in Iraq - something the Neocons wanted for years and finally were able to get - with a cherry on top (defense contractors ready to go - and then earning millions.) wars always make a good number of people rich.

A Google search brings up this - I really suggest you folks going gaga over the OP video watch:

(4,351 posts)He is a professional poker player who writes books on poker tells. While I take what Chris says with a grain of salt and a lot of common sense, when I looked at the homepage for People Who Read People, I noticed that the only videos that took off where the ones of Chase Hughes which gave him a big bump in viewership. (edit: He also posts some right leaning stuff)
Do I take every word that Chase Hughes said as gold, no I don't. I do think there were some good points made in his video.

(1,845 posts)The Airforce training manual for MPs had how to respond to a UFO crash.
Then there are the stories about Quetzalcoatl and Osiris bringing civilization.
Dogon tribe and their star maps which were proven accurate by the Hubble telescope.
Some interesting things to ponder.
Remember that you can entertain a thought and not accept it.
Then there is a huge technology gap. From a discussion I went to in the early 1990s. They have nano particles that can be programmed to build anything. The other is these triangle ships that go straight up out of the atmosphere and then can land wherever they want. For deployment of troops. The space shuttles were 1960s tech.
Another example was the flood at my house. The FEMA people showed up and was using a device I never seen before. And asked how they were connecting to the internet. He told me I was the only person to notice. He said it was a tablet. That it would eventually be available to the public. 10 years latter ipad. The other how they were connecting to the internet was Starlink. So what do they have now. Why was tech developed with our tax money given to Steve Jobs, Bill Gates and Elon Musk?

(1 post)People need to be much more skeptical of everything online. It amazes me every day that we can be surrounded by known liars and fake, distorted information and staged funny videos of all kinds, and still people will gobble up information in unskeptical, gullible ways. How many more times do you have to believe fake things before you start being more skeptical. Chase Hughes is a narcissistic liar who says all sorts of wacky, exaggerated, weird, and untrue things. If you want the summary of my look into his past, it's here: https://behavior-podcast.com/debunking-chase-hughes-examining-the-bullshit-of-the-self-titled-1-expert-in-behavior-influence.
This is just to say: Let's all start being a lot more skeptical of stuff we learn about, especially online. Stop being gullible rubes, everyone, please.
