No, Eloon.... they're trying to have LESS fires.

LOS ANGELES - Elon Musk is warning of a delay in Cybertruck deliveries in California as several will be donated to Los Angeles area communities that remain without power due to the Palisades and Eaton fires.
The Altadena Mountain Rescue Team posted a photo on social media showing several Cybertrucks donated from Tesla, which will be used to provide power and free WiFi until power is restored to the sheriff's station.

Think. Again.
(21,291 posts)...I guess he's trying to write them off as donations since he can't sell them.

Exactly

(64,731 posts)then I'm not above giving him kudos for the "donation" of the Cybertrucks. I assume the idea is that once they get low on charge, they will drive them somewhere that has power and recharge them, and then drive them back. Lather, rinse, repeat.
Besides, it's better than having those wheeled dumpsters out on the roads.

(6,225 posts)as they're not selling at all. The dealer is using part of the mall parking lot for storage. He's trying to drum up demand by trying to make that P.O.S. look like some sort of hero vehicle.
There's no delay in deliveries. There is a delay in purchases, and I'm hoping that is indefinite.

(534 posts)They have been buffing out the e"Founders Series" etching so that they could sell those $140K units at $60K off.
You can bet they will be claiming inflated values as the basis for a tax deduction.

(51,804 posts)...but donating trucks that have to be plugged in every so often to work to places that don't have any electricity doesn't sound like all that great of an idea to me. Maybe a couple of Honda generators or something would have been better?

(3,924 posts)it has its own vehicles to fuel. All sorts of stuff is brought in on C-130-type planes that are landing at airports outside of the fire emergency area. At some point the military will have tankers available, too. Think it's just a matter of time before the Army is brought in to fill some missions.
