Kyle Cheney @kyledcheneyBREAKING: Judge Cannon clears way for release of Jack Smith's 2020 election report. https://storage.courtlistener.com/recap/gov.uscourts.flsd.648652/gov.uscourts.flsd.648652.697.0_1.pdf

Judge Cannon DENIES a motion by Trump's co-defendants seeking to block the release of Jack Smith report's first volume on election subversion case.
She sets a hearing on Volume 2, which AG Garland didn't plan to publicly release.

Here's Judge Cannon's ruling allowing release of Vol I (on J6 case) tomorrow, but reserving decision on Vol II (class. docs case) & setting hearing Friday (Jan 17) at 2pm in Ft. Pierce on that question.

(4,009 posts)Smith was perhaps wise to segregate these two matters, which are substantively different in any case (i.e., Trump committed a whole slate of diverse crimes).

(7,239 posts)I have asked this before: https://www.democraticunderground.com/?com=view_post&forum=1002&pid=19898303
Make them both public BEFORE Donnie, "convicted felon," gets sworn in. We need to know WHY he held the CLASSIFIED documents.
I'm guessing that he sold them off to the highest bidder.

(35,574 posts)doesn't want to do that (i suspect he's been shaking and quaking in his wittle shoesies about the ordeal)
however, he's probably breathing a sigh of relief that cannon will be dancing with it on friday and regardless of what she says --it's the weekend! and no one is gonna work on the day when trump is crowned and then...oops -- "it's too late, baby" *

(7,239 posts).... him to it. Releases BOTH reports now.
An old standard joke during the Vietnam error that went around to circles where someone was facing a Court Marshall or Article 15.
This is the common refrain from someone on the ground in Vietnam.
WHAT ARE THEY GOING TO DO TO PUNISH ME? SEND ME TO NAM!
What will they do to Biden send him to retirement!?

(7,239 posts)I'm sick of feeling that there is no real fight in the Democratic party while they continue to drag us back in by begging for money so they can get elected or reelected and fight for the US.
It does seem they want to continue in office so they can leave as millionaires and or find a lobbyist job.

(2,543 posts)After reading the new order, it appears what she did was pretend that the January 6th case might have something in it about the other two defendants in the Documents case and made Smith tell her no such thing was in the J6 case. I suspect in any other scenario where there wasn't this rush before Trump is sworn in, the 11th Circuit would have squashed her claim that she could prevent the J6 case from being released and Smith wouldn't have had to jump through any hoops.

(6,457 posts)part 2. Any specifics as to the contents of documents themselves could be redacted. There is no valid reason we shouldn't know about the hiding, moving, false statements etc.
Biden should immediately pardon Nauta and DeOliveira at which point theres zero argument or excuse not to release the report on the documents case, because we all know those two will have their case dismissed after next week in any event.
