'Senator Chris Murphy, a member of the U.S. Senate Foreign Relations Committee, on Monday joined a press conference in front of the shuttered United States Agency for International Development (USAID) to raise the alarm about how President Trumps decision - at the behest of Elon Musk - to illegally shut down the agency will have disastrous impacts on national security while strengthening China and Russia.'
My words: We're in it now, people. Try to find a place where you can hear trusted voices and news besides here - MSM is failing us. Bluesky is is a good source. God bless.

(12,432 posts)1. The golden age (if it ever truly existed) of Noblesse Oblige and Benevolent Despotism is long gone.
For the last few decades these Laissez Faire billionaires were barely held in check by (increasingly less) regulated capitalism. Now Musk and his ilk want to usher in an era of Elite Economic Sociopathy.

(12,432 posts)3. Thatcherism would be benign compared to what these billionaires want.
Not only would Musk and his billionaire friends privatize all government functions, they would ban any form of organized labor and do away with collective bargaining. The billionaire class wants Americans working 120-hour work weeks, to be more productive and further increase their already obscene wealth.
