From what I'm reading, most say he can be removed if he's charged with a crime. Wiz Imp Feb 13 #12
The charges were dismissed without prejudice. DemocratSinceBirth Feb 13 #14
That means they can re-bring those charges at a later time, right? Wiz Imp Feb 13 #17
Homan has threatened to reinstate the charges if he doesn't come through on the quid pro quo. So yep. Scrivener7 Feb 14 #21
I don't believe the charges have technically been dropped Renew Deal Feb 13 #15

Public Advocate needs to step up pressure.

Edited: I was wrong. It is just that bad. Kathy Hochul will pull Eric Adams

That was uncalled for.
A pooper-scooper for that piece of shit. Too crude.
A pimple popper for that boil. Ewww.
A trash bag for that inventor of sidewalk trash cans. Much better...

Job Bush removed Orlando mayor Buddy Dyer for campaign violations but he was quickly reinstated when the charges were dropped.

The DOJ just dropped those charges, so could he still be removed with no crime now charged? On the other hand, a few places say he could be removed regardless of whether he's charged or not. I can't find a definitive answer. Does anyone have link that explicitly says removal is a possibility now?

That's a lil different than a dismissal with prejudice.

But for now, he is not charged with a crime. I don't think she would remove Adams regardless even though she should.

Also, the justification for dropping them is to enforce immigration laws. If he is removed, the stated justification for dropping charges evaporates.

That's a tough one. On the one hand, innocent until proven guilty. On the other, it would be a bare-knuckle political move during an unusual time. The problem is precedent. It might be symbolically bad to do that.

One other argument for doing it is that he is a tool to enforce a policy that she in theory opposes.

If he violated Federal laws he probably also violated State of NY charges, or even Local or city laws.
