Pritzker, more like this please.

Illinois Gov. JB Pritzker tries to chart a path for national Democrats to counter Trump
https://apnews.com/article/jb-pritzker-illinois-governor-democrats-counter-trump-2a1c05826222357ee530e1324b4028f2

“If you think I’m overreacting and sounding the alarm too soon, consider this: It took the Nazis one month, three weeks, two days, eight hours and 40 minutes to dismantle a constitutional republic,” Pritzker said.

The speech stood in stark contrast to many of Pritzker’s fellow Democratic governors — who, at the same time, were on their way to Washington for face-to-face meetings with the newly sworn-in president. Pritzker skipped the gathering of the National Governors Association.

Since then, the divide between Pritzker and other Democratic governors, particularly those potentially eyeing the party’s 2028 presidential nomination, has only widened.

Michigan Gov. Gretchen Whitmer recently sat for a one-on-one meeting with Trump as she seeks to find “ common ground ” with him. California Gov. Gavin Newsom has launched a podcast in which he had friendly conversations with Trump loyalists, including Steve Bannon.

More resistance, less appeasement.

This is not the time to hunker down and stay silent. We have a narrow window to slow things down and throw sand in the gears. Appeasement doesn't work with wanna-be dictators and their henchmen; it just encourages them.

...would you vote for the Republican, vote 3rd party or write-in, or not vote for president at all? You can, or course, tell me it's one of my business.

Pritzker may be a billionaire, but he has, IMO, a Kennedy-esque commitment to public service and doing good.

And will always use my voice and words to strongly discourage people voting for any billionaire.
There is no such thing as a "good" billionaire. The very fact that they are a billionaire means they are not a good person. They all stole the potential and prosperity of others to achieve that level of wealth.

JP Pritzker is a billionaire because his family founded Hyatt hotels.

He is the exact opposite of the other billionaires. And speaks compassionately about his fellow human beings and at the same time valuing entrepreneurialism and the importance of businesses to help build as strong economy

And the worst kind, a nepo baby that inherited his wealth.
I don't have the energy or desire to make someone understand how destructive billionaires are to an economy. How destructive it is to others, it ways seen and unseen.
Some people lately just seem to dismiss it as a far left talking point but it's literally what is killing this country.

They have to have law degrees and do community work before they can gain access to the trusts.

The philanthropic endeavors from his extended family go beyond what most people even know.

If you didn’t know them in real life as Pritzkers, you’d think they were roadies for the Grateful Dead.

I can't force someone to understand. Some people have this unbreakable infatuation with billionaires.
I'm sure the undocumented immigrants they pay pennies to work in their hotels and other staff trapped in a never ending cycle of generational poverty hopefully see it a little different.

This country could have been so great, with so much potential. Then greedy corporations and billionaires strip mined it for just about every single coin it has.

We will have to agree to disagree. It genuinely hurts my soul reading about people defending billionaires while everyday people struggle to just keep food in the house and the lights on.

No more billionaires buying elections? Their influence peddling is so pervasive that some cannot see just how destructive it has become to our politics and our policies.
Maybe once that happens we can start getting better policies and stronger laws against corporate greed and influence.

735 US billionaires hold more wealth than 160 million people combined.
The top 1% hold 31% of all wealth in the US.

Billionaires are leeches on society, gobbling up more and more of our resources while the rest of us get less and less and made to feel guilty for what we do get from the system. Billionaires steal the prosperity and potential of others. They rob the country of its potential.

All billionaires, I don't care if it's Taylor Swift or eLoon, are the living embodiment of evil.

It’s what you DO with it if you have billionaire-level bucks. If you use those big bucks for the benefit of others, especially those in need, that counts BIGTIME with me. If you use that wealth to build hospitals, or feed and safely shelter the poor, or back candidates of compassion and a focus on the greater good, THAT is one thing.

But if you use that wealth in selfishness or to enhance your own power or bully pulpit, then it’s quite another. QUITE another thing ENTIRELY.

Whitmer is a red state governor and we should always question the motives of Democratic government officials in red states because it doesn't become a red state by accident.
