Hill Country tragedy touches our community.

Just as city dwellers have vacation homes at the beach, a member of our beach community had a place in the Hill Country along the Guadalupe River and was there when it was swept away in the flood waters. She was able to hang on to a tree, was rescued and after being admitted to the hospital for cuts, bruises and scrapes has been released. However, her daughter, son-in-law and grandchildren were not as fortunate.

The body of her daughter has been recovered. Her son-in-law and grandchildren are still unaccounted for, and the search remains active.

but I think it might have been a different person becsuse they said she was 22.

But even her family is lost . So even survivors will be going through something so horrible.

Even one loss would be difficult but to suddenly lose multiple family ............

One of my employees came back from
Camping a day early to get internet for her husband. He needed to work. They were at a campsite in Kerrville. We are still receiving notices via FB of all the children’s faces and phone numbers if anyone sees them.

All I can do is cast a bit of my own care and love into the empty, horrific hole that’s been freshly ripped into these people’s lives.

The anguish she is dealing with and all those who love her as well.

We learned this afternoon that our friends had a nephew, his wife, and their two elementary school kids on vacation in a cabin along the Guadalupe. The cabin is gone and they have not been found.

He is/was a teacher and coach.

I haven't learned the identity of this member, but for those that know her and her family, please pass my condolences on as well along with my deepest sympathy.
