(23,177 posts)We have a legislative branch that is protecting their reign of power over a system that is incapable of protecting itself from Russian infiltration. And our populous has the attention span of the average dog, all too willing to soak up whatever Reality Show dirt comes across Fb, Twitter, Google, etc.
We're so fucked!

If I say certain names I'll get posts banned. So far those names are "Bernie and Donna". I just suggested that we stop helping Putin and trump, but if you like them, I guess we should keep this up and rip ourselves to shreds. I'm sorry, I was on the side that is fighting trump and not helping.

(4,407 posts)maybe Warren is thinking it is simply time for the Democratic Party to distance themselves from Clinton. No matter how unfair it is, Hillary Clinton's brand is deeply tarnished at this point. Beyond repair. Hillary hate is what Trump and his minions live and breathe on. Trump's supporters put up with everything stupid Trump does by saying he is better than Hillary.
Hillary is no longer a candidate. On the left, many people feel like she represents a wealthy "establishment" that controls the party, again, rightfully or wrongfully, it doesn't matter. This is the chance for the Democratic party to put on a new face and move past all the perception problems, and all the crap from the 2016 clusterfuck that, beyond all probability, elected Donald Trump. Keeping Hillary in the forefront of the party only plays into the Republican strategy of demonizing democrats by demonizing Hillary.
Warren is a very bright lady and she knows these are desperate times. I am going to wait and see how things play out before I pass judgment.

Sheesh
Me: I think she's just trying to rehabilitate her image.
Also, I do not think this will affect Obama in any way.
He's pretty unflappable; and Clinton is strong and
happy now.
We need to focus on the next election cycle and get
Democrats elected!

(30,481 posts)Everyone knows she has a book coming out and few know the name of it. Clinton is bigger than life and the mere topic alone overshadowed the book. She got the biggest bang but I don't think it will equate to bucks. That and she really seems to have pissed off true Sanders supporters and Clinton supporters.

(15,522 posts)I constantly hear how much this is soooo divisive every time shit like this happens. So, when Donna let this bombshell drop, what was the proper response so as not to be divisive? Just go along with it?
I think it's more important to keep our eye on what we're supposed to be united on. What is the point of being united if that's just going to be used against us? We'll just be led by our united noses and forced into agendas we don't want. Being united won't do a damn bit of good if we're forced to unite for anti-Democratic ideals.
No. I think if we stay focused on our goals, that will naturally unite us. It isn't divisive to fight for those goals.

(15,522 posts)You can just choose to move on and get over it. People who are less affected by the damage are more likely to feel like that's the true and correct course and think nothing of telling others they're being divisive. That would be my point.

(2,949 posts)If you want to continue with this debate, go ahead not sure who benefits from it but, go ahead.
We are all affected by division in the party.

(13,390 posts)But the financing problems that tore down my and other states are worth discussing. People don't get that buying into the headline with hysterical defenses of Hillary and discussion of the primary is what is most destructive. Forget the competition and look at the overarching problem, and ways to move forward. 50 state strategy!!!

We have to tell them to quit doing Putin's bidding.
