The Alabama state Republican Party has announced it will not certify ballots cast for controversial Public Service Commission candidate Jim Bonner in Tuesday's primary election, a day after the party formally censured him over comments he made on social media and in radio interviews that many found offensive.
....

Bonner was censured by the state GOP's candidate committee on Wednesday after concerns were raised about posts Bonner made on Facebook and comments in radio interviews that have been called anti-Semitic, racist or otherwise offensive.
....

In one post from 2017, Bonner shared a picture of a card reading "my love 4 u burns like 6,000 jews" with a picture of Adolf Hitler. He captioned it, "Awwwww I got a Valentine!!!"
....

*AL.com reporter John Sharp contributed to this report.

**The story was updated at 9:57 a.m. to include Bonner's response.

It's a primary. I'm no expert, but I think they get to make their own rules. NT mahatmakanejeeves Jun 2018 #5

Or maybe they just know how unpopular his actions are and how bad it would make them look.

Either way, good for them.

.... now that the Orange Shit-gibbon has released them from the dark and dank cellars, wet caves, and hidden refuge under their rocks.

Fascism has returned in all its glory to infect a new generation of the feeble minded and easily mislead.

Have no use for such a vile person, but if they can just ignore valid ballots for this guy, who will be next?

Also, would really like to know how many voted for this clown. Maybe his votes would require a runoff by keeping others from getting 50%.

edit for grammar

Guy was allowed to get into the contest and his behavior wasn't a big secret.

They are just covering their asses now that his antics are painting the party with a broad racist brush.

If they didn't back away from Roy Moore, why are they so squeamish now?
