Kamala Harris agreed to CNN town hall

Vice President Kamala Harris will participate in a town hall with CNN on Oct. 23, her campaign announced Thursday.
Harris participation comes after former President Donald Trump has declined to face the vice president in another debate before the Nov. 5 election. CNN also offered Trump a town hall, and his campaign did not immediately respond to a request for comment from POLITICO.
Trump may want to hide from the voters, but Vice President Harris welcomes the opportunity to share her vision for a New Way Forward for the country. She is happy to accept CNNs invitation for a live, televised town hall on October 23 in Pennsylvania, Harris campaign chair Jen OMalley Dillon said in a statement.
Trump recently declined an interview with 60 Minutes and has been attacking CBS for its editing of a recent interview with Harris. Harris has done a slew of interviews with both traditional and non-traditional media in recent days, including an appearance on the podcast Call Her Daddy. Trump is also making the rounds, including a recent appearance on comedian Andrew Schulzs podcast as well as spots on Fox News and other conservative media outlets.

(22,621 posts)The interview occurred the day after a New York jury found Trump liable for sexual assault and defamation against E. Jean Carroll.[7] During the interview, Trump called Carroll's account of the assault "fake" and "made up," and he referred to her as a "wack job."[8] In response to Trump's comments, Carroll filed a motion with the Southern District of New York seeking an additional $10 million in damages from Trump for defamation...

(142,360 posts)I was at her house yesterday afternoon for my nephew's birthday and mentioned to them. I couldn't find yet where but I also told my BIL and he sounded interested. I don't know how they work those town halls for "audiences" but I know that County will be excited (it is right outside of Philly).

(25,483 posts)I hope they can make it! It will be a memory that they can cherish for the rest of their lives!
I was invited to MVP's rally in Greenville, N.C. this Sunday but I can't leave Chichi for more than a few minutes to go anywhere.
I'm so worried that she'll die without me. She will literally beat herself to death falling into things trying to get to me. And the howling!! She can be really loud for a four pound dog. Which is totally new for her. I hadn't ever heard her howl until she got sick recently.
I think she's going blind. Poor dear. I ordered some of these shirts for carrying babies to carry her around. She fits right in the kangaroo pouch and falls asleep. I can at least get things done around the house as long as I don't jostle her, too much.
I hand feed her, hold her and her water so she can drink and try to anticipate her needs. It's like having a newborn. I'm so thankful she's still continent. She lets me know when she has to go and I hold her over her potty pad.
She's always been very smart, was easy to train and learned several commands and other words. I can tell she still remembers.
She just can't really stand and walk without being propped up. She has slid around the entire bedroom leaning against the walls. Unfortunately, as soon as she tries to walk in the room she falls.
She wouldn't bark at first when she came home with me and I used music to teach her to sing which was basically barking. She used to stand up on her hind legs and we'd 'sing' and 'dance' together.
Her entire life she's been really quiet unless she needs or wants something. Now is so different. We've had a lovely time together. So much fun! I miss those carefree puppy days.
I traveled a lot for my job and she went everywhere with me. She's so tiny and was so quiet nobody cared. We went a lot of places where nobody even knew she was there. What a wonderful life she's given me. I owe it to her to take care of her now.
I just keep checking to make sure she's still breathing and that she's smiling in her sleep. We made it to her 16th birthday this week and I'm extremely grateful for that. I want her to know that we're friends 'till the end and I won't leave her alone.
I still take her everywhere. I would be ashamed of myself if she died and I wasn't there for her.
Anyway...
Sorry for rambling. If you know anyone who wants to go to the rally in Greenville, NC to see our next president here's the info:

(142,360 posts)to smell the smells and feel the breezes would be therapeutic too. She probably has retained those other senses like smell and hearing so definitely bring her along when out "in nature" when you can.
Hoping you can continue to get that quality time with her while you can!
