Donald Trump has promised a closed border and mass deportations. Those affected are taking action now

Source: CNN

. . . The League of United Latin American Citizens, the oldest Hispanic civil rights organization in the United States, is securing money and lawyers to fight what it is already calling potential “vicious, malevolent, cruel and ruthless” immigration policies.

“Make no mistake: Mass deportations will harm the millions targeted by Donald Trump, the families and communities they are part of — and every person in our country. They will rip parents from their children, destroy businesses and livelihoods, and devastate the fabric of our nation and our economy,” said Juan Proaño, CEO of LULAC.

A lawyer with the American Civil Liberties Union says its planning for legal challenges is already well advanced.

“We have been preparing for a second Trump term for nearly a year, with a focus on the most draconian possible policies, including the threat to use the military for deportation, which is flatly illegal,” said Lee Gelernt, an ACLU attorney who argued many of the most high-profile cases during Trump’s first term. . . .

Too late received, of course. But we learn these things the hard way…

I don’t think any of them should get deported. But do you really think TCF’s regime is going to stop with just non-citizens?

i think he’ll make a show of it, deport some ppl. but he hires these ppl. and the reason immigration policy is what it is is that’s what the oligarchs want.
i think it will b like the wall- build enough to point at, then steal the money.

i might b wrong, as the ppl who will rly run things cd b more competent this time. or maybe not. no 1 who knows what they r doing will want to work for him.
that’s our only hope.

something like this that wd cost a ton of money to actually do, money that will b paid to their friends, but it’s hard. it’s very very expensive. but there’s a lot of money in doing it half assed.

i think the 1s they’ll do the most damage to r the 1s where money is spent on we the ppl.
where u can just pull the rug out, long term damage b damned.
so i think bye bye aca, epa. other reg agencies defunded and filled w toadies. patronage run wild. i’ve said many times- it’s not so much the tax cuts as the reg cuts that the oligarchs want. so much more money there.

the real answer is- whatever the oligarchs want.

His rich friends will build those concentration camps and then bill the taxpayers for every person admitted to them. Just like in Germany, the billing will continue but the people will just disappear. The actual deportation won’t happen, because the billing couldn’t happen if the person showed up as alive in some other country.
Every single one of us needs to befriend an undocumented person and raise hell if they aren’t allowed to communicate with us daily from ever camp they are sent to.

there will be a worker lease program run through the detention centers. In other words, they'll still get their undocumented workers.

it will be a humanitarian catastrophe unlike this country has ever seen. He couldn't care less about that cuz it's his fever dream but plenty of Republican politicians running for re-election in two years will care. Time will tell.

The big employers of undocumented workers must must know they will have to pay off the Trump family to continue business as usual.

There will be political theater but emptying the chicken factories in all the red states is highly unlikely. Individuals however may be terrorized by Trump Neo-Nazis.
