US Federal Election Commission chair says Trump removed her from office

Source: Reuters

U.S. Federal Election Commission Commissioner and Chair Ellen Weintraub said on Thursday she received a letter from President Donald Trump removing her from office.

-snip-

"There's a legal way to replace FEC commissioners-this isn't it," she said in a post on X, which had the letter attached.

"I've been lucky to serve the American people & stir up some good trouble along the way," she added in her post.

The letter attached to her post was date January 31 and signed by Trump. It said: "You are hereby removed as a Member of the Federal Election Commission, effective immediately."

Signed/dated Jan 31st, rec'd Feb. 6th.

And has anyone else noticed that Dump's signature is about twice the size as during his first term?

Not just this letter, but everything I've seen, when he holds the folder up like he's showing a parent his poop.

say about his handwriting. The up and down of all characters; no one character defined (either in print or in cursive), the sharp angles, the heights of his writing. To me it shows he is a megalomaniac, how he is defined by rage and cruelty. It speaks sharply (to me, no pun intended), of his mental illness, which looks to be progressing rapidly as his signature has gotten much sloppier.

Make his attorneys (or Bondi's DOJ) defend his actions in front of a federal court. Protest! Give him an inch and he'll destroy the whole country, and the democratic world with it. Don't be nice -- nice will kill you!

If it's not legal, why comply? It's not as if we're at the stage where people are "disappeared" yet. In fact, going along with illegal things is exactly how we get to that stage sooner rather than later.

Every bent knee is just an invitation to push the boundaries a little more.

Why don't people understand this?

Two things made me say that.

The first was her quote in the OP that talked about her time in the position in the past tense. However, that was only a partial quote. The full sentence clearly shows that she plans on staying around.

The second thing was completely my fault. I didn't RTFA.

I'll try to do better.
