(Salon) If 2020 was the face mask election, this one is turning out to be the Bounty election — you know…the “quicker picker upper” paper towels we need to clean up Trump’s unhinged meltdowns.

What is different about this election is how we’re seeing it through two sets of eyes – our own, and those of the man who after thinking he was cruising to an easy win in November against a frail and fading Joe Biden, now sees himself losing, and he really, really can’t stand it.

The meme that Trump is “melting down” doesn’t quite get how profound his discomfort and disbelief are at this moment. The switchover from Joe Biden to Kamala Harris happened so abruptly and went so smoothly, it’s almost as if there never was a Biden campaign. Just three weeks in, Kamala Harris looks like she has been the presumptive nominee ever since the primaries began early this year with Biden at the top of the ticket. If you blinked over the past week, you’d open your eyes to find her someplace else with a crowd at a rally even bigger than the last one. She went from Wisconsin to Georgia to Pennsylvania to Michigan to Arizona to Nevada and back to Michigan again – and that schedule omitted appearances in Raleigh, North Carolina, and Savannah, Georgia that had to be canceled due to the Biblical-style rains of Hurricane Debby.

The difference this time around is that the Democrats have been on offense since the afternoon Joe Biden suspended his campaign three weeks ago. That Biden dropped out was not a surprise to many, but it was to Trump, who quickly called foul and even briefly claimed that the switch of candidates before the Democratic Convention was somehow “unconstitutional,” as if the Constitution of the United States has anything to say about the rules of American political campaigning. The Harris campaign used the element of surprise to maximum effect by being prepared to hit the campaign trail running without any apparent preparation prior to the Biden announcement. ................(more)

3. Why aren't the reporters and talking heads asking if he's so "knocked off his feet "

Because Kamala is now the Democratic nominee, how will he be able to be flexible and face the unexpected with world affairs? How will he be able to handle more than one crisis at a time?

4. Because the media does not want the Democrats to win.

The media is not neutral here, and hasn't been for a while. The bigger question is WHY the media does not want the Democrats to win:

* Consolidation of media ownership means that most larger outlets are now controlled by about five (conservative) families, and they are stacking the newsroom.
* Stacking the newsroom means that liberal voices are being replaced by conservative voices at the editorial, broadcast, and journalistic level, even as circulation is trending more liberal.
* Fake media - generated by bots or extranational social media farms - is increasingly flooding the zone. This makes it easier for more "legitimate" outlets to choose a seemingly more balanced reportage while increasingly shifting the Overton window to the Right.
* Advertisers - have been exerting pressure on news outlets to push content that is favorable to them. This may be backfiring.
* Right-wing ownership of private social media makes it easy to silence any alternative voices on these platforms.

They are in a quandary right now, because Harris is big news, and their bias is becoming almost ludicrously obvious.

6. It is easy to forget,..

trDUMP has had his nose to the presidential campaign grindstone since January 21, 2021.

He has planned, and schemed, and plotted for a duration of almost 4 years solid to get his ass parked back in the Oval Office for his second term. Having been anointed and decreed the 47 US President by God Almighty himself.

Project 2025 was the fool proof blueprint he was going to follow to get his foot back in the White House. The Fascists at the Heritage Foundation think tank were to take care of all the mundane tasks of being the architects of the blueprints trDump II admin would follow. Allowing him to grab the reins of government on day one so they could immediately dismantle and shit trash American Democracy forthwith.

Like the resounding success the Fascist enjoyed capturing the judicial branch of government. The underhanded tactics of the Federalist Society think tank, Leonard Leo, McConnell and other assortment of Fascists made the long held dream of capturing the United States Supreme Court all possible. First within their reach and then finally firmly in their death grip/grasp.

The plan was for the Fascists to next quietly capture the executive branch of the US Government and transfer the Office of the Presidency into a Fascist Dominionist Khrishtun Theocratic Dictatorship. Installing DonOld trDUMP as the eventual figurehead despot/dictator on day one - all after the election had gone by and trDUMP was officially inaugurated into office. Only then would the Fuhrer be fully revealed to the commoners and the masses.

All was going smoothly to plan,.. trDUMP looked very good in the national polls.

Then the shit hit the fan from about six different directions simultaneously.

* The Biden economy was looking very rosy.

* The employment numbers kept coming in good.

* The stock market was doing very nicely.

* Inspite of the do nothing ReThug congress that couldn't select a leader, the Biden administration got a lot of important project passed and into motion.

A bi-partisan immigration plan was hammered out and about ready to sail through both Houses of Congress, then arrive at Biden's desk.

The Fascist think tanks then realized if the public comes to fully understand how successfully the Biden admin was looking on paper and on results Then if Biden's results were compared to the trDUMP admin results - the public would come to the realization the trDUMP admin and trDUMP himself were absolutely failures and buffoons. Worse yet many of the associates in the trDUMP admin and trDUMP himself were tangled in litigation criminally and civilly prosecuted, disbarred, jailed, and then often pardoned by trDUMP.

Reality sent the Fascist think tanks into panic mode. They immediately had to enact Plan B - to promptly shit trash Biden and immediately exploit any perceived weaknesses of the Biden admin. either actual or contrived weaknesses. Team trDUMP buckled down and went after Biden with a vengance, trDUMP himself was ruthless in orchestrating a destroy Biden campaign.

The thing is they over played their hand, as Fascist Republicans customarily do, and they wore Biden down. Overwhelming him with relentless negative media attention, while the corporate media prostitutes cheerfully joined and chimed in on the Biden onslaught of contrived and fabricated incompetence. They had to tear Biden down, his Presidency shined too brilliantly if matched against the pathetic and failed Presidency of trDUMP.

The Fascists over plated their hand so badly their slaughtered the golden goose and smashed all the golden eggs that would have enabled them to have a solid chance of winning the 2024 presidential election.

They chased Biden off and rolled out the red carpet to welcome Kamala Harris to the 2024 campaign.

Talk about buffoonery,.. that is the worse plan evah,.. the Fascists fucked themselves royally with this brilliant move. Master class idiocracy, the Fascists fail to realize, with don-OLD trDUMP, that is the only offering found on his menu, rank stupidity.
