Vance and Musk question the authority of the courts as Trump's agenda faces legal pushback
WASHINGTON (AP) Top Trump administration officials are openly questioning the judiciarys authority to serve as a check on executive power as the new presidents sweeping agenda faces growing pushback from the courts.
Over the past 24 hours, officials ranging from billionaire Elon Musk to Vice President JD Vance have not only criticized a federal judges decision early Saturday that blocks Musks Department of Government Efficiency from accessing Treasury Department records, but have also attacked the legitimacy of judicial oversight, a fundamental pillar of American democracy, which is based on the separation of powers.
If a judge tried to tell a general how to conduct a military operation, that would be illegal. If a judge tried to command the attorney general in how to use her discretion as a prosecutor, thats also illegal. Judges arent allowed to control the executives legitimate power, Vance wrote on X on Sunday morning.

(799 posts)I can completely understand how musk has no clue how the US government works. After all he is an illegal immigrant from a formally racist, fascist state. vance being in government just proves that we need to enforce an IQ test, an a 10 grade civics test before being allowed to assume office.

(2,530 posts)Take all the MAGAts with them and see how productive the country would be.
They don't understand the concept of law and order.
These people aren't conservative, they are something else, point blank fascist idiots.
I can deal with dumb, but both dumb and evil? That's lethal.

They make me think of children in a home with childcentered/gentle parenting: when they are finally told "No!" they throw a tantrum hoping they will get their way.
