Is it too early to pop the bag in the microwave so it's piping hot and buttery?

(23,135 posts)PSA get thee to Amazon Prime and order a silicone microwave popper.
Price range $10 - $20 and no basic difference among the various prices. It collapses for convenient storage.
Now you can use regular normal popcorn with no artificial flavors or colors. Yes, you can still find plain ole popcorn like your mother used to fix a zillion years ago. We used to pop it in an old cast iron popper designed to be used over the fire. We always kept a fire going when it was really cold and during the holidays and we popped a lot of corn in that old thing.
1/3 cup of popcorn, place the lid on the popper, microwave two minutes = Perfect Popcorn
You can make it dry or with a variety of oils or butter.
We are currently using some bodacious red popcorn which actually pops up white that is divine. I also suggest Black Diamond; it is an Indiana variety which also pops up blindingly white.
I actually found it at Big Lots of all places.
