(12,201 posts)I get what I want for dinner (usually 2 Taco Bell taco supremes and a large Dunkin cold brew toasted almond sugar free iced coffee - weird, but I don't have to cook dinner for one!). Afterwards, I'll watch what I want on real TV while I play with my beads/wire. Once in awhile I'll have a one-on-one dinner with our son depending on his work schedule.

(837 posts)Well modified Boulevardier; I add a whole can of seltzer. It's more alcohol than I really should take in, but some situations just call for it. Amen

(98 posts)Being retired, I get to take a nap whenever I want to. I'm a lucid dreamer which means I'm aware I'm dreaming and I can watch and enjoy my dream, be a part of the dream, or stop the dream. I set my watch to wake me and I usually take a 30 minute nap. I can be asleep and dreaming within minutes. The subject of my dreams are not something I plan on having and they're always different which makes them interesting. When my watch vibrates to wake me I feel refreshed.

(68,357 posts)I like to order a pizza or some Greek food, get altered-mental-status-level drunk, and stay up all night watching movies. "Blade Runner", "Dark City", and "Excalibur" are my favorite late-night choices.
One of these days, I'm going to try to binge-watch the extended editions of all three "Lord Of The Rings" films in one go.

(9,098 posts)Definitely True Crime shows!
Cold Case, Forensic Files, all the documentaries that come out about various serial killers, etc.
I also love my naps. When I have a teaching assignment I usually get off around 3:30 and when I get home normally the first thing I do is take a nap.
And over the past few years I've given up on dieting. I've tried so many ways to lose weight (I'm not obese but definitely overweight) and now I'm like "f it." In fact, I'm getting ready to have a pastry right now but I don't feel the least bit guilty....

(36,083 posts)Mine include fast food, soap operas, freemium video games (bad gaming model but they draw you in - the guilt part is playing even though you cant pay and need to pay to go far), and some comedy movies and some pop music. Just some pop music because I mostly proudly like it.

Afternoons Nap.
One of my husbands friends taught us this amusing acronym.
Since retiring almost 4 years ago, Ive become quite fond of SCANning. We have a 2 seat La-Z-Boy recliner that is perfectly configured for this. Im ur female Siamese knows the sound of the mechanism, and typically shows up to join me. She keeps me legs warm.

(29 posts)Fortunately, my late husband and I had many years with both of us retired. For example, being able to pop over to the coast at the drop of a hat, seemed such a guilty pleasure. The luxury of reading into the wee hours because you dont have to get up for work is something I still appreciate. One guilty pleasure, now that I live alone, is indulging in ice cream any time and eating it out of the carton. Reading all your posts makes me smile. Thanks everyone!😊

(512 posts)My favorite Guilty Pleasure is Crispy Home-made French Fries. Long, crispy on the outside, flaky like a baked potato on the inside, hot, salty, and a little Cold Ketchup to dip them in.

(36,083 posts)had a barbie show. Every week I ordered one. I had Bill Mackie Barbies. Specialties Barbies from movies. Barbies from different time periods. You get my drift. Thing is I never took them out of the box. If you deboxed they were worth less. I sold some on Ebay and gave others away. I didn't make any money. But they were all over the house in their boxes. I couldn't really enjoy them, It was almost like an addiction. Luckily QVC stopped the Barbie show and I stopped buying the dolls from Mattel. It was hard but I am Barbie free , except for the Mary Poppins Barbie. Good luck

I restrict sugar for health, but damn I love a dash of the real stuff . I stay under the 25 g daily limit though if I can. Also the very rare glass of wine !

Sorry you had to eschew alcohol. On the plus side no hangovers.
