On the other hand, there's no such thing as too much glitter or too many spirals. Just please don't alter the eyes. Very well done!

2. I've learned that your art is excellent when you choose

to put more details in.

It’s to your credit that your art stands up very well to less detail work, but when you take it further you always bring it to a whole new level of good. So my advice is to go ahead and do your thing because it works. As much as I like your washes and the semi abstractedness of them, your finishing detail work knocks it out of the ball park!

4. Thank you! She was originally supposed to be whimsical, but I did her eyes and her whole

feeling changed, so whimsical doodads might not do. I love henna designs, but I don’t want to try anything too complicated that runs roughshod over the washes.

I have glitter pens, metallics, and my moms gouache. I also have titanium white somewhere around here if I need to mix a different color to better match the feathers. I might let her sit for a few days until something feels right. It’s nice to know that’s an option.

8. I let my art sit for awhile when I'm in doubt.

I put it in a spot where I’ll see it all the time as I move around doing daily things. It gives me a chance to just glance at it or, if I want to, study it for a longer time.

This gives the piece the chance to tell me what I need to do to finish it. Sometimes it takes a couple of hours, but sometimes it takes me months. I’m in the process of having one painting in view and it’s been months! Months! It “tells” me what to do and I do it which makes it closer to finished, but still not finished. This process always works for me.

I can’t move on to my next painting until the current one is done.

That Moon face is excellent!

I do have a thing about finishing. I’m compulsive about it I guess. A lot of it is probably because when I finish something I can move on to something new and exciting. It’s probably strange, but it’s my kind of strange.

Such depth. I'm glad you're able to see what you accomplished with them. Sometimes it's hard to evaluate one's own work.
