Do you face a river or the ocean? It's very nice either way, just curious.

I love your use of color.

It’s actually quite inspiring in the many facets of how you appreciate and respond to details. You impart you’re own reactions to your surroundings very well and give the viewer a treat by sharing the interest you have for the details around you. Your nature paintings, depicting your observations and the stories you include about your hiking and forays is a wonderful invitation to see the world in your own unique way.

Your painting of the rusted car door shows how something man made is reclaimed by nature. The decaying rust blends with the rest of the theme of the leaves of Fall at the dying time of Nature’s cycle and the snow which keeps life dormant. I imagine Spring will decorate the bones of the car door with beautiful flowers and grass, as Nature slowly recycles it.

Your studio is inviting, warm and conducive to doing artwork. The warm colors, the floor boards and the furniture reminded me instantly of Van Gogh’s bedroom painting. That painting is one that really fascinates and pleases me on a profound level. Perhaps artists paint their studios because they want to show how important painting in itself is to them and how the space they do it in helps them. It’s their intimate and safe place where they can explore this inner universe they have inside. I’ve always thought that painting the objects in their studio is how they get into the actual art of art. If you can paint a simple chair or a floor and people react to it like it’s a masterpiece then you can call yourself an Artist. Because it’s not what you paint that’s important. It’s how you do it and how you elicit reactions from others that makes all the difference.

I also really appreciate your new camera paintings. It’s very interesting the way you are experimenting with the backgrounds now. It’s also adding other elements to the paintings. Adding color and shapes like flower patterns and developing modifiers. The addition of the flower patterns on cloth has added a touch of softness to the strict objective depiction of the camera, by adding more visual interest to the camera. It feels like you’re choosing patterns that to your artist’s eye are bringing more to the painting. You may not even be totally aware of this new thing that draws you to do this. If this is the case then just let it happen. Not all things an artist does have to be totally conscious. There is an element of letting it flow that is showing.

These are lovely!

What intrigued me more is that you have a wide range of interests. You are a prolific blogger and I'm very impressed with your ruminations on every subject.

Glad you express yourself so well.

And revisit my blog from time to time. I update it several times a week. Actually, I usually update it every other day. And feel free to comment, make suggestions, and leave observations. Thanks again everyone!

So joyous. It isn't easy to have yellow as a background color but you made it work.

It reminded me of Raoul Dufy's paintings, especially his interiors. (I love Dufy.)
