1. Yes, it is salvageable

You can go with the changes that your canvas needs now. Just forget what you originally wanted to do. All you’ve done is work more on the lower right quadrant, but it doesn’t look messed up. It looks more developed than the rest of the painting. You can work on the rest of the painting to get it as developed. I really like your bank of flowers in the lower left. If you define those more it will help balance your composition. Try that and see if it works.

I like what you’ve done with the shadow in the water. It looks broken up the way it would on moving water.

If you feel you’re ruining it then you have nothing to lose by just continuing to work on it. There’s freedom in that. If you just make a mess of it then just let it go and start a whole new painting.

5. Thanks. One guy suggested rinsing it off to get rid of the mud, but I was afraid my lights would get

dirtied up. I did develop the houses and flowers more to help balance things.

It’s balanced and colorful and still looks bright and colorful. You did a great job!

2. There's nothing wrong with it. You know what my advice is. Working over the overwork don't work ...

... especially on watercolors with the high degree of transparency of the watercolors: paint it again!

If that isn't suitable for you commissioner, it would look good on my wall.

or, i love water color pencils and crayons. a few detailed marks, et voila.

7. I do want to mix up my media but not on this one since I have to give it away. I want

to practice a bit first.

Maybe add a little more detail to the background? And possibly darken the water in the middle of the painting?

11. I like the changes.

They're pretty subtle but I think it works better. Now don't change a thing, it's perfect!!!
