I believe that it was intentional to call attention to Will Smith slapping Chris Rock.

Was I reading too much into it OR was that intentional?

Will Smith hasn't shown his face at any awards shows since it happened 2 years ago.....

Chris Rock has been making televised appearances but I don't think he's on the Golden Globes this year.
