Some fave contemporary works....

John Adams - Dharma at big sur and Road movies.





Tristan Murail's L'esprit des dunes. I'd also recommend Gondwana. His music is described as "Spectral", it's def. evocative and immersive, atmospheric.



Peteris Vask - who would describe his own work as "Spiritual" I think. Also recommend giving Book, for solo cello, II - Pianissimo a listen.



George Pelecis - Nevertheless.
