(34,640 posts)I dont know what PMC is.
abakan
(1,914 posts)It is a clay infused with silver or copper you can stamp, shape and then burn off the clay for pure metal pieces.

(34,640 posts)Im just a novice!
No, its not PMC.

(1,914 posts)In many ways I am too. I moved and haven't setup my shop yet so I have nothing new to share.
When I get started again I may have to start from the beginning. Good luck. You have a good eye.

(2,681 posts)I have been making jewelry off and on for over 20 years. I like to use Milagros. After my bout with breast cancer back in 2014, I started making "healing" and "aches and pains" necklaces. I give a healing breast necklace to any of my friends or daughters' friends who are being treated for breast cancer. I have neuropathy caused by nerve damage from the chemo and working with jewelry findings (and quilting) helps keep the numbness away.
My other favorite is working with genuine turquoise beads which can get expensive. I lurk on Shop GoodWill and Ebay to see if I can win a turquoise necklace that I can take apart to use the stones.

(34,640 posts)I, too, fought breast cancer, and I made some bracelets to give away to survivors I met and became fond of. Im in the process now of making warm hats to donate.
Goodwill is a great source of materials for me, as well. Your turquoise work sounds lovely, do you have any photos to share?
A couple of my bracelets ... good luck to you!

(5,272 posts)The in and out of the chain between the stones is pretty, with some edge.
I have a thing for jewelry that looks almost ancient (helps channel my inner Etruscan) - timeless, strong, simple, and with natural elements.
Id wear any of the pieces youve shared here.
Ohiogal
(34,640 posts)I also like to try to make something out of a found item, stone, natural element, etc.
Its way too easy to just go to a craft store and buy shiny things halfway made for you. (although I do it on occasion). 😊
Thank you for the encouraging words!

(9,611 posts)Many like me can no longer wear wire earrings (my lobe is nearly torn through and I cant afford surgery to repair it). I also can't wear any heavy earrings.
But it seems like post earrings are very hard to find, mostly just plain silver or gold, or maybe fake crystals. I'd love to have beautiful designs like these.
I also need hyper-allergenic or stainless steel posts (allergic to silver) so it's really hard, almost impossible to find pretty earrings anymore. I probably have 50 pairs I can no longer wear--lots of Native, ethnic and artistic designs.

(22,038 posts)Very wearable. Are the stones jasper?
I also like the prehnite bracelet but the chain around the stones reminds me of handcuffs or something else. I hope you don't mind that feedback.

(34,640 posts)Mostly I use yard sale or thrift store finds, nothing too high end. I dont know what those beads are but Im sure theyre not semi precious stones.

(621 posts)Ive been trying to do this myself, but much less successfully that you! The seashell is especially pretty, and would be great for me since I live by the beach. I was given an antique (broken) chandelier and removed all of the crystal pieces and the glass sconces, and tried to wire wrap some of the largest crystals to make Christmas ornaments. They looked decent (not great) but I brought them to several craft fairs and had them listed for $1, which was quite low since lone crystals of that size usually sell for around $5 at flea markets, so they must have looked less appealing than I thought. 🤷🏼?♀️ May I ask what kind of wire you are using? I really would like to do this!
Ohiogal
(34,640 posts)You wrap your wire around a pencil. Using the pointed end of a pencil will make your wrap gradually decrease in size, if thats the effect you want, or you can keep it all the same width if you want. Then you insert your object and form a loop for the finding.
I have tried just wrapping wire around a found object (stone or beach glass) and had luck with the stone but not the glass. So I keep trying. You Tube has lots of tutorials on how to wire wrap. Its just something that takes a lot of practice! As far as wire, I went to a craft store and just bought wire that said it was good for wire wrapped jewelry... it was a long time ago and I dont have the card it came on anymore, sorry! Sometimes craft stores have free printed instructions you can take home, on display by the materials youre looking for, they give you lots of good ideas.
I bet those crystals you took from the chandelier were gorgeous! They would indeed make very pretty Christmas tree ornaments.
