I made for a birthday gift. I bought a bird cage at a garage sale for $3.00. I talked 'em down from $5.

(19,288 posts)Especially since I've discovered the male member growing up there. So I took a nice batch and added them to the cage. Also put sedium around the edges, inside.

(17,134 posts)We restored vintage bicycles and sell them to loving and caring people. Yours looks as though it might be a vintage bike.
Now you need to tackle painting your chair
And I wagon plants.

(19,288 posts)This is my friend's patio in front of the shop. She's super artsy crafty. I'll get a better picture of her bike when I'm over there. She used the same purple as on the bird cage and then did flowers and shapes using dots of paint. Acrylics. We are going to paint some more bug rocks, soon, too.

(17,134 posts)Well, in all fairness my hubby does all of the work. He does an amazing job restoring these old rusty bikes. He will enhance the patina on them, sometimes using mica powers as well as the paint.
He has clients who commission him to do customization on their bikes. He really enjoys it thoroughly and loves when the clients are especially impressed with his attention to detail.
Keep me informed when you've posted your friends bike. I am very fond of vintage bikes as you are probably well aware of by now!

Should be a picture of my friend's bike. It didn't show on the imjur page so I'm not sure what I have.

(19,288 posts)That is the same color as the bird cage. I'm going out to paint rocks. Maybe I'll remember to get a pic of the other bike.

(17,134 posts)I emailed the pic to my hubby and he's pretty sure he knows the maker of the bike. He has become a very informed bike enthusiasts. I hope you'll still get the chance to post the other pic painted like your bird cage/planter!
Thanks for taking the time to take the pic and post it

(19,288 posts)This is the bird cage with a little dragon in it. I changed it after I found out my friend watches Game of Thrones.
Now back to find that old bike I saw.

(17,134 posts)My hubby could make it into a most lovely bicycle.
We have several tank bikes that he is slowly getting around to fixing up. I would love to own this bike.
Did you notice the price?
libodem
(19,288 posts)NFS. I can see why. It was a cutie. I wonder what it might have been worth? What do you guesstimate?
MagickMuffin
(17,134 posts)However, once restored it could be worth double or triple the price.

(17,134 posts)Have you given it to your friend yet?
If so, what was their reaction?

(19,288 posts)I put a little dragon in it instead of the rock bug.
If I'd had more moola on Sunday, I might have aquired a couple more bird cages. They looked like something your grandma's parakeet may have lived in. Might have worked?
