I think that was from a John Strachan collection although this FC version is great.

Edit. This is apparently a Dylan song but the similar melody comes from the Strachan ballad, I think?? What's interesting is that Fairport Convention was involved in a very serious road accident way back when that injured some and maybe killed a member. I wonder if this was their response to it?

The nature of folk music: Stories, ballads and melody all mixed up together in the kettle of time and memory then served as needed.

The amazing thing is that this is an out take. He decided it shouldn't make the cut for The Times They Are A'Changing album.
