Photoshop Generative Fill AI beta gallery

Photography purists will hate it, “it is not photography, it is something else", ok. Adobe would probably hate it for skewing their beta toward something they never envisioned, ok. It can’t be helped.

When the beta arrived, I was heavily involved in a facebook group called “The Plane Spot” run by Tampa International Airport. The group is dedicated to Plane Spotting, by registration/plane type and livery, exactly like train spotting only different.(train/plane spotting joke)

The airlines are bold in their livery or paint jobs. For instance, google “Our Commitment” Alaska Airlines, “Florida One” Southwest, “One World” British Airways, or especially “Imua One” Southwest. Naturally the two worlds began to blend together in my mind and I started generating my own livery for various planes, and that morphed into creating a few new species you will never see. It seems a bit crude still or it may just be the medium I'm seeing. Melding fighter jets and birds is a great example of creativity.

That said, my only issue with 'AI' is the source of the imagery or text or other content. If I take a picture of a truck and one of an armadillo then use AI to merge the two into a new image that's all my work. On the other hand if I take a picture of my Grand Daughter and put her on a dragon at the beach where did the dragon and beach come from? As I understand it AI scours the internet for information to fill in the void. Yes, the idea and creativity is all mine but AI borrowed someone else's imagery to complete "my" picture.

It can be just another editing tool or it could be plagiarism depending on how it's used.

I'll use it just like I use all the other tools at my disposal and I'll not impose my outlook on how other's use it. It's a personal choice.

All that said those are way cool pics!

and not from the internet. Agreed, just scouring other's work is just stealing. Same goes for music.

There are certain weather conditions that bring TPA traffic near enough to photograph from by back yard, about 98% of those shots. The remainder are from a local park just 3 miles away. My favorites are gear up and a slight bank that puts me on the same plane as the wings, to appear to be flying alongside.
