St. Petri Dom, Bremen

This cathedral has too many details to present here. It was a small church before Charlemange came by in 787 AD and the current structure started construction in1042. A lot os new stained glass. Originals broken over the years and in the war. I was lucky enough to show up for the early afternoon brief organ concert. I love the organs in these buildings.

I too love these old churches. They're full of fascinating carvings, amazing stained glass and statues and great soaring beamed ceilings!

And much more!

Your photos take me back to the travels my husband and I had some years ago. Thanks!

I echo CaliforniaPeggy’s comments. It’s mind boggling to think that you’re standing inside a structure built in the year 1042!

It would take you all day to look at all the intricate carvings, patterns, stained glass, marble columns, etc.

Thank you so much for sharing these.
