Another perspective on sunrise at the beach

This morning I didn't go down to the beach, but took photos from the deck of the house where I'm staying, which is set back behind and above the sand dunes here.

4. I spend hours just

watching the ocean, listening to the sound of waves breaking and birds singing in the trees. Yes, it does feed my soul.
I try to get here once a year--only a 3 hour drive from home--and October is my favorite month at the beach here, in large part because the sunrises are more often very colorful over the ocean. The shore line faces south at Emerald Isle, so the sun both rises and sets over the water this time of year.

The brilliant sun in the orange sky with the man and his dog perfectly silhouetted against the waves: gorgeous!

And the sun rising behind the sea oats with orange-tinted clouds above! Perfection!

I'm sure you're definitely enjoying your time there. We are as well, thanks to your gorgeous photos.

I slept in a bit this morning and decided to have coffee on the deck to watch the sunrise rather than go down to the beach. It's always fun to get another perspective!
