(106,364 posts)Then again, there have been a LOT of sitcoms that I never watched. Maybe I'm missing something. Maybe I'll get bored one day and binge watch the entire series, but so far, no...

(38,958 posts)to which I am subjected during it and pretty much every other program. I haven't watched much of it this year as I simply have given up on the fight to enjoy television without the numerous ads. I will wait until it comes out on Dvd and watch it at my leisure.
If you don't enjoy the show, everyone's tastes are different and you should watch what you want, just like the rest of us.

That show is what is wrong with network sitcoms.

(13,708 posts)Just hated Sheldon Cooper's whining and knocking on the neighbor's door. But then I watched it for a few times and it grew on me. There are some excellent comedy bits worthy of American humor.
I wouldn't turn it on for myself, but certain bits make me laugh if I see it. It's just an ensemble sitcom of characters, the way Friends was, and How I Met Your Mother, but with the side of science.

(33,643 posts)But it was often good for at least a few laughs, and the characters were amiable (except Sheldon I suppose ... well he is but in an odd way let's say).
I'm def. the target audience though being a computer and science nerd, in the right age demo.
Also, I saw almost all of them in interviews over the years, and everyone on it seemed cool IRL. Guessing everyone is liberal. Jim Parsons is so stunningly different it's a trip. Very cool, very out gay man, and quite humble-seeming. His transformation into the character is really pretty impressive and part of why he won a lot of awards. JP is literally like the anti-Sheldon.

(6,346 posts)I find most sitcoms unfunny. The only current ones that I watch are The Good Place and Murphy Brown, and I recently started catching up with Brooklyn 99 on Hulu.

(14,707 posts)The Office, How I met your mother, liked Modern family for a while, but it should have been over years ago, and anything with Tim Allen in it.

(16,504 posts)I think I've seen a dozen episodes or so. Sometimes I think it's funny. Other times I cringe. It must have been on originally at a time when I watched something else because I don't really remember much about how it started.
It's just the way tv works.
