We're not the biggest GoT geeks, but we thought episode 1 was very good... Title sequence was sharp, the scenes were as well. Sam and Jon, Jamie and Bran. Arya and the Hound and Gendry. Lots of good moments.
Not rushing - yet.

(1,588 posts)I kind of liked all the "hellos" written into the script after the two year hiatus. I have not and will not read or delve into spoilers so it was a surprise to me when Jon was told by Sam at the end of the first episode that he was the rightful heir to the throne. I was thinking they would have dragged that out longer to keep the romance between Jon and Dany going (or might they keep it going anyway?). GOT has ruined television for me. I now expect every show to meet it's standards in all aspects. It's not letting me down again.

(34,370 posts)he will have the rest of the North behind him. If he does not they apparently are willing to stay behind. That is what I was thinking anyway. Why else is there all the drama about who leads when they know what is coming for them and how they are not going to make it alone? I do not see Dany giving it over easily though. Interesting, it could be anything. More plot twists, god I love this show.
I feel a bit like you, it is often hard to watch other shows like this.
