apartment in Milwaukee (their hometown) for 4 months starting May 15. They live in Phoenix. We will be going up there for 2 weeks late August. Pretty bad when you have to leave your home due to unlivable heat.

who contentedly remain through the summer. Less crowded roads, stores and restaurants are a partial recompense.

it was common from the late 1800s till air conditioning was ubiquitous in the 1960, or 70s to leave for a good part of the summer.

midwest and northeast during the winter months. Many people have also left there permanently.

fortunately it does start to cool off outside about the time it gets the worst inside. and I still have my bag of water on sticks that MFM gifted me 11 years ago.
