What to do if you have not received your ballot from your county

BUTTE COUNTY, Calif. - Have you received your ballot yet in the mail? If not, you need to let the county know you need a new one sent.

If you call your local elections office they will void the lost ballot and mail a new ballot.

Butte County Clerk-Recorder Keaton Denlay says each ballot has a serial number. Denlay told Action News Now what someone should do if they request a replacement ballot, and then later receive the original one.

"If the voter is looking at two return envelopes in their hands there is going to be a serial number on there that ends in a digit. If it ends in a 1, 2, or a 3, the highest number is going to be the most recent one that was issued to them,” Denlay says. “That's how they can find out which one is the one that they need to return for whatever reason both ballots show up at the same time."
