A medical school yearbook photo has enveloped Virginia Gov. Ralph Northam in scandal and led to calls for his resignation but Gov. Ned Lamont’s high school yearbook photo — which he posted to social media Thursday — has mostly just led to comments about the teenage Lamont’s flowing locks.

“If you’re not jealous of the hair you’re not being honest,” Lamont said, sharing the yearbook photograph, which was posted to Twitter early Thursday by WNPR producer Tucker Ives.

The photograph, from 1972 when Lamont was attending the prestigious Phillips Exeter Academy in New Hampshire, shows the future governor with a mop of hair that juts out over his ears and curls up at the bottom of his neck.

“Damn. Not feeling so bad now about my hair during the campaign,” commented Rob Blanchard, a Middletown Democrat who has since taken a job in the governor’s office.
