Fall foliage is halfway to peak near D.C. with brightest colors in the mountains.

West Virginia is at peak colors in the Appalachian mountains, while D.C., Maryland and northern Virginia are slowly changing.

*In the immediate D.C. area, peak foliage is probably two weeks or so away and should be later than average this year.
