.... and I was really rooting hard for your team. I would have loved to see Iowa take it all. You had a great season. Congrats and good luck with whatever bowl you guys pick up.

It broke my heart that they lost at the final few seconds. They certainly deserved to win.

Maybe next year.

Any team that could get us to watch football voluntarily is amazing. Having both sons at Iowa helps, but this team, this season, has been something else.

If you had bet in August that the Hawks would be undefeated in their regular season, you might have a lot of money now.

usually greatly.
This year was something else.

Made me wonder if we didn't get some of the feeling that fans got back in 1939 watching the Ironmen.

I would've been happy if they had just won more than they lost so it was icing on the cake for them to go 12-0 in the regular season.

10. We're halfway between the beginning of last century and the last time Iowa won a Rose Bowl in 1958..

I was born in that year, so it would be fitting for Iowa to win the Rose Bowl 58 years from the last time in 1958 too...

It was too bad Iowa lost the B1G championship game, but if they had to lose, I'm glad they lost to MSU, where my late father was a professor through most of my life... And my mom who also worked there but who was a native Iowan just passed away the weekend after we spent our last hours together watching Iowa beat Nebraska the day after I spent Thanksgiving visiting her. Kind of fitting in a way that MSU won the following weekend as a tribute to both my folks now too, who are now spending more time in the afterlife with each other.

Just hoping both MSU and Iowa win out here this coming January.
