Beshear urges those who received money for DNA samples to call fraud hotline

The Kentucky Attorney General's Office has issued a warning for Louisville residents who may have provided personal information as part of DNA-for-cash transactions.

Attorney General Andy Beshear is asking anyone who took the mouth swab to contact his office's Medicaid Fraud Hotline at 877-228-7384, said spokeswoman Crystal Staley.

The office will then review the patient's insurance claims to make sure they weren't billed for any fraudulent services.

Multiple Louisville news outlets have reported on a white van's appearance in recent weeks at multiple locations — predominantly in the West End — in Louisville.
