John Bel Edwards @LouisianaGov:
Today, we're announcing Shot For $100, a new vaccine incentive program that will give $100 to the first 75,000 college students who get their COVID-19 vaccine at participating institutions of higher education. Get vaccinated, protect your community, and get $100.
The COVID vaccines are safe & effective. 2.1 million first doses have been administered & only 8 people have had serious reactions. No one in Louisiana has died as a result of a COVID vaccine. Today we reported 57 deaths from COVID-19. Do your part & get vaccinated.

Although I think $100 is not that much, they shouldnt be rewarded.
Louisiana brought this upon themselves.

(10,875 posts)I think the longer people take to get it, the less the incentive should be. And everybody who already got it, should be paid the full amount.

(14,674 posts)I think this new program is just to entice college students to get vaccinated before returning to campus.
The 'Shot At A Million' program is handing out a total of $2.3 million in cash and scholarships for anyone who registered in the drawing with at least one shot.
Four adults (aged 18 or older) won $100,000, and nine children (between the ages of 12-18) won $100,000 in scholarships.
One grand prize winner will get the $1 million prize, which should be announced today (8-13-21.)

(10,238 posts)I wish Illinois would pay them to get the shot ..much cheaper and safer than letting the virus go unchecked
