Gov. Jindal missing from Republican presidential forum in New Orleans

The National Right to Life convention in New Orleans this week will feature a Republican presidential candidate forum on Friday but Gov. Bobby Jindal won’t be there.

Jindal, who has a scheduling conflict, will be the convention’s keynote speaker on its opening day Thursday, campaign spokeswoman Shannon Dirmann said.

Four presidential hopefuls are on the program for the 9-11:30 a.m. Friday event: Dr. Ben Carson of Maryland, former Texas Gov. Rick Perry, former Pennsylvania U.S. Sen. Rick Santorum and U.S. Sen. Marco Rubio of Florida.

Jindal is spending Monday and Tuesday campaigning in New Hampshire but will be back in state for Thursday evening’s, “The Festival of Life: A Taste of Louisiana.”
