I just received my first one and it says I can make cash withdrawals at an NYCE ATM. I just tried and it said "Insufficient Funds". There is more than enough money in my account, which I confirmed, and I tried the contact # that was given and was kept on hold for 3/4 hour, when I gave up.
I am now afraid to use it at the grocery store. Is this common?

(10,178 posts)I can do without the cash,of course, but I thought it might come in handy. Thanks for your help.

(9,629 posts)According what I read, you wouldn't be able to pull money out from SNAP benefits because you need a PIN that only authorized food retailers have.
In my original response, I was only thinking of SNAP benefits. TANF or state programs may be different.

(10,178 posts)I am only eligible for food purchases, not ATM withdrawals, which is fine with me. The mailing I received implied that I was able to do both so I gave it a shot. Thanks for your help.
