MassGOP reaches $400,000 settlement with vendor, as party's financial woes continue

Nearly two years after the party elected new leadership, the financial woes continue for the Massachusetts Republican Party.

The embattled state party on Friday agreed to pay $400,000 over three years to Mittcom, Ltd., a vendor that worked on advertising campaigns for GOP candidates in the 2022 election cycle, including the Republican nominee for governor, Geoff Diehl. The company had sued the party in 2023, alleging unpaid debts.

In a letter to fellow Republicans dated Friday, GOP Chair Amy Carnevale wrote that had the case instead gone to trial, the party could have been forced to pay even more.

“MassGOP made no admission of liability or wrongdoing by entering into the settlement agreement,” Carnevale wrote. “Thanks to this settlement, the slate is wiped clean, and we can proceed forward.”
