Like Ahab and his Moby Dick, Mississippi just cannot get enough of the gays. The state, especially its lawmakers, is obsessed with them.

1. Like Jim Crow.

This is the new Jim Crow.

Meanwhile, the old Jim Crow still simmers along, as usual, with voter rights. In the South, or any other GOP state. Both will bubble up anywhere the GOP has a hold.

It's like the parable of the scorpion and the frog. The scorpion wants transit across the pond and asks the frog to provide it. The frog says, "No! You'll sting me and I'll die." The scorpion responds, "why would I do that. If I did, we'd both drown. Trust me."

So the frog agreed and the scorpion got on his back. The frog swam out into the pond and the scorpion stung him. As they both sank to their death, the frog said, "you said that you wouldn't sting me. Why did you do that?"

The scorpion responded, "That's just my nature."

My advice to the next president is to not agree to swim the scorpion across the pond. My fears are that Hillary will, and my hopes are that Bernie won't.
