A gift for storytelling: Ivan Doig to sign copies of ‘The Bartender’s Tale’

One of Montana’s favorite native sons, Ivan Doig, visits Helena for a book signing for his
latest novel, “The Bartender’s Tale,” at Montana Book & Toy Co., noon to 1:30 p.m., Monday, Oct. 8.

Doig is also presenting at the Montana Festival of the Book in Missoula 7:30 p.m. Friday, Oct. 5, at the Wilma Theatre.

“The Bartender’s Tale,” has quickly earned accolades from reviewers in publications across the country —
among them, the Washington Post, USA Today and Publishers Weekly.

The story focuses on Tom Harry, the proprietor of the famous, mythical Medicine Lodge saloon, “a nearly holy oasis.”
